DemoLinux 1.0 is based on the Mandrake 5.3 distribution, for whose packages the source code is readily available from Mandrakesoft.

The source code for all free software modified by DemoLinux, as well as software produced by, and released as free software under GPL licence by the DemoLinux team, is available on the CD Rom itself in the /misc directory.

DemoLinux 2.0 is based on the Debian Potato prerelease version, frozen in november 1999, for which the source code is available from Debian.

The source code for all free software modified by DemoLinux, as well as software produced by, and released as free software under GPL licence by the DemoLinux team, is available on the CD Rom itself in the /.demolinux/sources directory.

Of course, we cannot provide source code for proprietary software that may be available on the CD (like Sun's StarOffice in DemoLinux 2.0), and you are required to contact us if you plan to proceed to large scale distribution of the DemoLinux CDs, as we have to make sure you respect the licencing terms imposed by the non free software that is still on the CD.
